CBERG BHM Gala 2026: 'The Language Beneath Words'

Following last year’s historic sell-out success, the 2026 Black History Month Gala celebrating Black excellence returns to the historic Guildhall. Delivered by the City of London Corporation through its Black in the Square Mile initiative in partnership with CBERG, this premier black-tie gathering unites over 300 senior leaders, ERG heads, and decision-makers representing more than 50 leading financial and professional services firms in the City.

This year's theme, 'The Language Beneath Words', opens in the historic Livery Hall with a powerful choral invocation and ceremonial ribbon opening.

Guests will then cross into the Crypts to experience three immersive, curated audio-listening worlds exploring the deep history of how Black music has shaped British culture:

• Communion: Exploring gospel and early roots.

• Transmission: Charting roots reggae and sound system culture.

• Futurity: Showcasing grime, British Afrobeats, and beyond, culminating in the Silent Clash (a synchronized live headphone moment) and an optional After Party.
